One of these sweet
little pipers was found ailing in a courtyard at the prison my
husband works in. He brought it home and we set up a little habitat
- lovingly gathered seaweed, sand, driftwood and sand fleas (oh
boy!) to try and help it recover. We had it for about a week, took
it back to the beach and it took right to water. Floated around a
little and then came back out and flew off. It was a beautiful
experience.

The Magical West End, a deep
mysterious place in the only temperate rainforest in the United
States. Cradled between the Olympic Mountains and the Pacific Coast,
the area is full of green light and mystery. Some even say
vampires and wolves dwell here. I say there are big fish, bigger
trees, mountains and deep rainforests... at the very least, magic
:-)
